  1. Modernity's solution to the agunah "problem" is to allow women to initiate divorce proceedings, which is what the civil law does. The problem arises when you have women who feel socially obligated to obtain a religious divorce but recalcitrant husbands don't feel similar social obligation to grant one.

  3. shalom professor Abramson, I don't know if you have given any hour lectures on the cantonists (I saw the short video) but I think it would be great to do a shiur on it. also I think for later on rabbi Israel Meir lau would be an interesting subject for a shiur on the shoa
