The feature-length documentary, LEAP OF FAITH, is the first film to explore the phenomenon of religious conversion. The film takes an in-depth look at one of modern mans more dramatic and difficult spiritual journeys: a journey that moves the voyager to forsake the religion of parents, abandon the traditions of childhood and enter into a wholly new, often radically different system of belief and practice of worship. In LEAP OF FAITH we follow four families through their religious conversion from Gentile to Orthodox Jew. It is a decision that some will find courageous, others utterly absurd. We will witness a host of crises and triumphs and often surprising consequences. Seen from one perspective, our story is a story of ultimate devotion, from another ultimate betrayal.

  1. As a Jew by birth, into the Reform Jewish branch, I just cannot understand why any Christian, or other non-Jew, would ever want to go through the rigorous, difficult process it takes to convert to being any kind of a Jew, let alone an Orthodox Jew. Judaism does not require for non-Jews to be converted, in order get into the world to come, when the Messiah arrives. There is also a tremendous amount of anti-semitism both here in the U.S.A. and around the world. So to any Christian or other non-Jew considering to conversion to Judaism, why even bother to do it?

  2. I’m converting to Judaism. The Chabad Lubavitch on being a full time Rabbi and learning the Talmud. Now this is what I call being a prayer warrior!!! Not some dead man on a wooden stick.

  3. I have been reading The Torah daily and wish to convert to Judaism.  I have searched the internet widely but only get negative responses.  I am 75 years of and time is not on my side.

  4. I have full acess to divine resources and I living by judaism many years but because of lack of money I cannot convert to Judaism in my local area – London, e.g. Masorti provide wide range of convertion for £ 3,500.00 unaffordable to me. Another Ortodox group require tutorials for money. I do not want tutorials because I am living by judaism and mabe know better materials than provided tutors. Conclusion is obvious – only rich people can be converted and Judaism is for rich only, particularly in London. I am Jew in my heart anyway, and I am looking for a Hashem acceptance only ! not some created by humans rules.?

  5. I purchased this DVD and it arrived. The audio/quality of the film was not anywhere good enough. I don't know if the DVD got messed up or I received a poor copy but I'm going to try and order another one.

  6. I think that every christian have to follow the law of judaism. Jezua(Jesus) was an jew, He prayed like an jew, lived like an jew. and respected the law of the Thorah. Chrstians must pray 3 times a day. I as an christan do that also. The only different is:That I have excepted Jesus as my lord and saviour,he was the messiah, died ,and rased after three days. .He said I am not come to abolish the law but to Fullfill it.Means.Tha law of the Thorah and what Jesus said is completed and that is Christianity. God does not lies,He have give us the law troughout moses and jesus Fullfill it. So w have to fast, pray 3 timesan day and respect the law in thora and what Jezua(Jesus) said.WAKE UP CHRISTIANS

  7. for he thinketh in his heart,so is he…Proverbs 23:7 if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.if we confess our sins,he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 john 1:8,9

  8. Judasim ,,catholicsim, islam , Hinduism, ect are all just " religion " works based righteousness , earning your salvation through doctrines , disciplines , practices ect this is not God s way " I am the truth the way and the life , no man cometh unto the father but by me " JOHN 14; 6 . " YOU BELIEVE IN ONE  GOD ? , GOOD , EVEN THE DEMONS BELIEVE THIS " James 2:19 …The Devil loves religion sadly also ..seek truth JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY ..There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 16:25

  9. The fact that the majority of genetic markers in Ashkenazim are of European extraction does not mean they are just as ethnically jewish as Jews who have a Higher degree or who have An Exclusively Middle Eastern Genome. Facts are Facts. Furthermore those Middle Eastern Genes present in all Jewish Populations cluster around the Palestinian population and places them at the center as would be noted from a founder population.

  10. BOY, you are a fool of fools. Those genetic markers are shared in common by MOST Jews worldwide proving scientifically, a shared geographic ancestral origin.

So yes, those blond haired, lily white, blue eyed Ashkenazi are as Jewish as any. The genomes can't lie about their Levantine origins even though PHENOTYPICALLY Jews vary a great deal.

Further, it has been proven similarly that there was relatively little admixture even in Diaspora.

  11. An abundance of European features proves otherwise, as does DNA which provides clear European genetic markers in Ashkenazim whereas these markers are far lower amongst Sephardim and near non existent amongst Yemeni and Iraqi Jewery. The extent to which Ashkenazim have absorbed European Genetic markers is overwhelming making it the majority of their ethnic makeup with the lesser part being middle eastern in origin.

  12. You are wrong. Most Ashkenazim are as ethnically Jewish as any Jews that never left the Levant, because they ARE are Jewish ethnically speaking.

The new converts are Jews from a religious, cultural, tribal and national perspective and because their children will likely marry ethnic Jews, the ethnicity is passed along 🙂

  13. Judaism is not only a faith it is 3 things. A faith, A culture and an Ethnicity one does not necessarily belong to all 3 in order to be a part of one. This is something any informed 10 year old Jewish boy knows.

  14. Wow! All Christianity has done for the last 2000 years is break into thousands of sects. That is way I always find this argument hypocritical. Judaism has pretty much remained whole and had to evolve without the existence of the Temple that is central to many commandments in the Torah. So yes it is different but it is very much the same. We wait until the day the Temple is rebuilt. Until then, rabbinic Judaism will continue onward.

  15. The Judaic religion of Judea was practised in mystery school, and had no Temples or Images.. the Temple of Herod (Western Wall), as the name states "Off Herod", was a Temple commissioned by Augustus, as part of the Massive Religious reforms initiated by the Roman Senate to deify Divus Iulius Caesar, the symbols of this Cult, being the Crucifix, the 6 Pointed Star and the Crescent Moon and Star, merging with the Cults of Judea and transformed into Political Propaganda e.g. Judaism/Christianity

  16. "but it is a law that makes the distinction between Jews and non-Jews."

No, such a law does not exist!

    Every religion makes the differences:

Judaism: Difference between Jews and Goyim
Islam: Difference between Muslims and Kufr (unbelievers)
Christianity: Difference between Christians and Gentiles

    So what?

  17. Stop talking bullshit, You said: "Judaism is not a religion"

    I asked you: SAYS WHO????

Who says or said this??? Where did you get this information? From Hitler, right?
