Day Kings of Ijumu land, Kogi State, stormed Gen. Jemibewon's country home to bless Oyinbo In-laws

In the 16th up to the 18th century, it was a common sight for white men to storm Africa either to propagate religion or to promote commerce and industry.

But in 2019, the idea changed, white men flew all the way from England, America and other advanced societies into Ijumu land to ask for the hand of an African Girl of Okun decent in Ijumu Local Government area of Kogi State (North Central Nigeria) in marriage.

That lucky African girl is American trained business development expert, Omolola, the daughter of Nigeria’s born retired General David Medayese Jemibewon (C.F.R) and Lady (Mrs.) Modupe Agnes Jemibewon.

Her new husband, a Captain with the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, Great Britain, Captain Samuel Forster led his parents and siblings down to Nigeria for their traditional nuptial on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

The event which held at the country home of the retired Army General who have held several positions in the Nigerian political space, had eminent Nigerians from all walks of life gracing the occasion.

Wife of former Nigerian Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Hajia (Dr.) Mrs. Titi Atiku Abubakar was Mother of the Day, while two former Governors of the state, Captain Idris Wada, and Alhaji Ibrahim Idris (Ibro Hotel) were in attendance. Two former Deputy Governors, Chief Sam Akande and Architect Yomi Awoniyi equally graced the occasion while a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Folashade Bent led other important society women and politicians to the event.

Others were bankers, businessmen, diplomats and top military brasses who came to celebrate with one of their own.

The Bride’s father is a former Military Administrator of the defunct Western States of Nigeria, first Military Administrator of Oyo State, a former Adjutant General of the Nigeria Army and former Minister of Police Affairs.

The next day, (APRIL 14, PALM SUNDAY) both the Ian Taylors/Forsters family and the Jemibewons stormed St. Paul’s Catholic Church Aiyetoro-Gbede town, to give praises to God Almighty for successful nuptial outing both in Britain and Nigeria.

But on returning home, a cream of traditional rulers in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State led by the Paramount ruler of Ijumu land, His Royal Majesty Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni (The Onijumu of Ijumu land) were waiting to bless the Jemibewons and their brand new in-laws.

It was a very delighted General David Medayese Jemibewon and his beautiful wife, Lady Modupe Agnes Jemibewon who welcomed the royal fathers to their home as father of the groom, businessman Ian Taylor and mother, Queen’s Counsel Sarah Forster and other members of the Forster families of Great Britain received royal blessings from the royal fathers.

The event is a follow-up to the white wedding which took place at Sussex, England between May 25th and 26th of year 2018. (Find videos on this channel)

The groom, Captain Samuel Forster is a Captain in the Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment of the British Army while Omolola Jemibewon who grew up in the United States of America and worked with several international institutions in America and South Korea is an international trade and economic development expert.

The couple met in Abuja, Nigeria in year 2016, having each spent several years living and working abroad. While Captain Forster was on a military bilateral service from Britain to Nigeria, Omolola was an executive at the Nigeria Exports Promotion Council.
